The freshly published report on ‘EU imports of organic agri-food products: key developments in 2019’ by the European Commission underlines the importance of Ukraine as a main producer of organic products for the European market.
A vast majority of organic cereals (excluding rice) imported to the EU is from Ukraine: 32% of wheat and 77% of other cereals are of Ukrainian origin. Regarding organic import volumes, Ukraine made it on 2nd position with 337 856 t, which is an increase by 27% from 2018.
