From January 1, 2022, the new Regulation of the European Parliament and the Council of the EU No. 2018/848 on organic production and labeling of organic products entered into force in the countries of the European Union.

This Regulation, together with implementing and delegated acts adopted for its implementation, makes important changes to the rules of production and trade of organic products in the EU. Since a large part of Ukrainian producers of organic products are certified according to EU organic standards, and organic products produced in Ukraine are exported to the countries of the European Union, the new regulation of the organic industry in the EU is important for Ukraine as well.

In order to help Ukrainian producers of organic products, in particular, exporters, to understand how the new Regulation No. 2018/848 on organic production and labeling of organic products can affect their activities, the project "German-Ukrainian cooperation in the field of organic agriculture" translated a handbook on the main changes in the new organic regulation in EU countries.
