Now more than ever, inspections in accordance with Ukrainian and European legislation on organic farming require a combination of technical expertise and interpersonal skills. In order to specifically promote professional competence in these areas, the project “German-Ukrainian Cooperation in Organic Agriculture” recently offered a three-part online lecture series in Ukraine.

Led by renowned experts Samanta Rosi-Belliere and Elisabeth Rüegg, both of whom have been working in the field of certification and auditing of organic farms for decades, three key topics were covered:

  • Online training 1: “Risk assessment in organic inspections”

  • Online training 2: “Internal audits in the context of the Organic Regulation (EU) 2018/848”

  • Online training 3: “Soft skills in organic inspection”

The interest was overwhelming: around 400 participants from Ukrainian organic inspection bodies, the Ukrainian accreditation body, the Food Safety Agency, the business community and other Ukrainian institutions took part in the two-hour events.

„We are delighted that these events have been of such great interest. The presentations are a further building block in strengthening organic farming in Ukraine and developing it on a broad basis,“

emphasizes Dr. Stefan Dreesmann, head of the project "German-Ukrainian Cooperation in Organic Agriculture".

All three presentations are ideal for individual or group-based training. The presentations shown can be found in the attachment and may be copied. In addition, the recordings of the presentations are available via the following links:
