Fourteen employees of the Ukrainian consumer protection authority carried out organic inspections completely independently for the first time – supported by the German-Ukrainian Organic Farming Cooperation project.

From September 13 to 22, 2025, an Ukrainian delegation of twenty participants traveled to the German state of Lower Saxony as part of the “German-Ukrainian Cooperation on Organic Farming (COA)” project. The aim of the study tour was to learn about the diversity and innovative strength of organic farming in northern Germany and to gather ideas for the further development of the organic sector in Ukraine.

Modern agriculture is impossible to imagine without organic production. Today, it is organic production that builds consumer confidence, opens new markets and creates value for farmers.

To support the development of the organic sector in Ukraine, in 2020, with the support of the international project ‘German-Ukrainian Cooperation in Organic Agriculture’ (СOA), in cooperation with the Scientific and Methodological Centre for Higher and Pre-Higher Education, this unique resource was created — the Organic Knowledge Platform. The platform is also actively supported by the Organic Federation of Ukraine.

On July 17, 2025, a presentation of a new training manual "Organic Crop Production" took place, which was attended by more than 110 organic operators, representatives of educational institutions, scientists, advisors, public officials, as well as agricultural producers interested in organic farming. The manual and its individual sections were presented by the authors of the publication - leading scientists, agricultural advisors and practitioners of organic production, whose successful experiences are highlighted on the pages of the manual. During the online event, an interesting discussion and exchange of experience took place on important aspects of the production of organic crop products. With over 170 participants, the online seminar held on 23 June 2025 to present the Ukrainian translation of the EU guide “A Vade Mecum on Official Investigations in Organic Production” was a resounding success. The event marks an important step towards strengthening organic farming in Ukraine.

Impulses from the German state of Lower Saxony for Ukraine

As part of a multi-day expert information trip to Germany organized by the APD to promote rural areas, the delegation from Ukraine also spent two days visiting the German state of Lower Saxony. These two days were organized by our project “German-Ukrainian Cooperation in Organic Agriculture (COA)”.

We cordially invite you to the online event “Seminar on the presentation of the Ukrainian translation of the “Guide to conducting official investigations in organic production”.

End of May the Conference “A Systematic Approach for Official Investigations” took place in Brussels from the organic Anti-Fraud-Initiative.  This event offered a valuable opportunity to discuss modern approaches to official investigations in organic production, exchange experiences with colleagues from different countries, and get inspired with new ideas for improving practical approaches in Ukraine.

Under this motto, another expert information trip organized by the German-Ukrainian Agricultural Policy Dialogue (APD) in cooperation with the German-Ukrainian Organic Farming Cooperation (COA) project took place in Brussels in mid-May 2025.
