Agritechnica in Hanover (Germany) is the world's largest trade fair for agricultural technology. The fair attracts 2,811 exhibitors from 52 countries. Around 400,000 visitors are expected by the end of the 7-day fair.

Oleksandr Kaliberda from the project German-Ukrainian Cooperation in Agriculture (COA) took part in a workshop entitled "Food System Transformation in Ukraine", which was held at the Headquarters of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Rome, Italy on October 17-18.  

Since August this year, Ukrainian farmers and processors have been able to obtain certification under the Ukrainian law on organic farming. The first Ukrainian companies have already been certified according to this law. There are more every day.

A campaign to help Ukrainian organic farms finance their organic farming certificate this year was recently successfully completed.

In 2023, our project, "German-Ukrainian Cooperation in Organic Agriculture"  supported the NGO Permaculture in Ukraine with a sustainable solution - solar panels! 

Dr. Stefan Dreesmann, Team Leader of the project "German-Ukrainian Cooperation in Organic Agriculture" presented on this topic at this year`s  Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) -  Forum in Halle (Germany) last Friday.

At Biofach 2023, organic agriculture in Ukraine was present with numerous companies and organisations. 

The project "German-Ukrainian cooperation in the field of organic agriculture" (COA) intends to provide support to Ukrainian organic operators by compensating the cost of organic certification.

On Thursday, April 13, 2023, a delegation from Ukraine learned about the work of IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements) in Brussels.

The six-page article on organic farming in Ukraine was published in the German magazine Biopress in April 2023.
